Whether you’re planning a summer Frozen party or a Winter ONEderland party this mold-able snow is a perfect affordable, easy & fun kiddo activity.
I made 3 batches of this mold-able snow to put it in our water table and it was a great amount as it filled the tub enough to be fun, but not too much to be a huge mess or an over priced DIY!
What you’ll need to make 1 batch:
– 2 -16oz boxes corn starch @ $1.19/ea = $2.38
– 1 can shave cream; I bought from dollar store! $1
– glitter (optional); can get on Amazon for $3.99 and FREE shipping for PRIME members. This container would be plenty if making 3-4 batches.
TOTAL per batch: $4.38
Start with emptying the two boxes of corn starch into a large bowl. Then, spray about 1/2 cup – 1 cup shaving cream on top.
Knead the shaving cream into the corn starch (kind of like kneading bread dough). Once it’s mixed start adding more shaving cream; you’ll want to add the shaving cream 1/2 cup – 1 cup at a time. It starts off really sticky, then will smooth out.
Once it’s mixed it’s not sticky but it can be messy so put in an easily cleaned area or on a sheet to protect floors/carpeting. We put our snow in our water table which worked great for easy clean up. Just scoop out the snow, open the drain plug & hose it down!
I also added the extra “sparkle” to this activity with an Olaf cardboard cutout and found a FREE printable download for the sign.
